Wachovia Center

Wachovia Center, formerly known as the CoreStates Center and First Union Center, was built on the site of the John F. Kennedy Stadium.  Opening its doors in 1996 to the tunes of Ray Charles, it is became the sports complex for the Philadelphia 76ers NBA basketball and NHL Philadelphia Flyers hockey teams.   Over the years it has hosted numerous other concert luminaries such as Luciano Pavarotti, Kiss, Barbara Streisand, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who, Trans-siberian Orchestra, and a host of other entertainment that would include Cirque du Soleil and Disney on Ice.
